Lifecycle Cost (운용 유지비)

Overview

Lifecycle cost represents the total cost of owning and operating a helicopter over its entire service life.

This includes not only acquisition cost, but also maintenance, fuel, personnel, training, spare parts, and overhaul expenses.

In many cases, lifecycle cost far exceeds the initial purchase price.

Aircraft selection must therefore consider long-term financial impact rather than short-term acquisition savings.

Operational sustainability depends on how manageable these long-term costs are.

Mission Structure

Lifecycle cost can be divided into three major phases:

✅ Acquisition and initial setup
✅ Operational cost (fuel, crew, maintenance)
✅ Long-term sustainment (overhaul, upgrades, spare parts)

Each phase contributes to the total cost of ownership.

Operational Logic

Effective cost management depends on:

Operating cost per flight hour
Maintenance frequency and complexity
Spare parts availability and cost
Fuel consumption

Overhaul and major component replacement cycles

Lower acquisition cost does not guarantee lower lifecycle cost.

많은 경우, 전체 운용 기간 동안의 비용은 초기 구매 비용을 훨씬 초과합니다.
